About Me

Sometimes I wonder why I can’t seem to sit still and have never really come up with an answer. Not sure I really need an answer though, but where I get my energy for life, is from people, music and adventure…

My ‘obsessions’ in life are connecting with people, photography (I generally see the world through the lens of a camera), music (blues festivals are high on the addiction list), travel, fundraising and volunteering for charities that are close to my heart and generally contributing to the community in any way I can.

I am also quite partial to a good feed and can often be seen devouring (or taking photographs of) delectable delights in various well known cafes around Newcastle.

I’ve grown up with the lyrics of Bruce Springsteen ringing in my ears. I’ll be honest.. he’s my biggest obsession. His acoustic storytelling and eloquent songwriting delivered in various phases and genres of music over the years has definitely carried me through each little era of my own life. I could go on about him for hours, but I won’t. All I’ll say is, he’s my musical rock and he’s what I turn to when the chips are down or up and everything else in between.

Come along for the ride, but as I mentioned…it ain’t free…

Hi Michelle, I’ve just come back from doing Kokoda with Inspired Adventures for Lifeline…isn’t it amazing! I remembered reading your blog before I went…it makes a lot more sense now that I have lived it myself 🙂
I am in the process of creating a video clip of some of my photos and last night found your youtube clip of the porters singing. It’s really beginning to sound like I am stalking you (!!), but you are very good with the social media and all of your posts and clips etc come up when I google for Kokoda and porters singing! Their singing was one of my highlights of the trip (and the porters, in general, actually), but I didn’t get a decent recording of them singing. Would you mind if I used the audio from your youtube clip (and just the audio) of the porters singing for my video? We may upload the clip to youtube ourselves and one of my team members may use it for presentations of the trip. Other than that, it will just be used for my own memories 🙂 We can put a credit to you on the clip for the audio.
Please let me know, I would really appreciate it 🙂 Ali (aka yorkesgirl)
